Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from Sapien Engineering Ltd Principal Consultant - Specialising in Mechanical Engineering at Sapien EngineeringJob Title:Project Engineer – Defence Sector Contract Type:Full-time, Permanent We’re seeking a proactive, organised, and driven professional to join a respected engineering business in Norfolk specialising in high-specification solutions for the defence and energy sectors. Key Responsibilities: Manage defence projects from handover of the tender through to successful delivery. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure project execution aligns with company objectives. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and report on key milestones. Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal operations teams. Maintain accurate project documentation, including programmes, reports, and order entries. Attend and organise meetings with both internal stakeholders and external customers. Identify budget deviations and report risks or concerns proactively. Essential Qualifications & Experience: HND or Degree in Engineering (or a related field). GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths (Grade C or above). Proven experience in a similar project management role, ideally within the defence or energy industries. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project management principles. UK National status (due to project security requirements). Experience in an engineering manufacturing environment. Familiarity with rotating electrical machines.
