Recruitment & Talent Specialist | Freelance Talent Partner @ The Career CottagePCV Chargehand – Day Shift | Southall, West London We’re hiring for a Day Shift Chargehand to join a growing, well-supported engineering team at a respected depot in Southall, West London. This role would suit either an experienced technician ready to step up into a leadership position or a current chargehand looking for a fresh, well-managed environment. With a new management team in place, the depot is undergoing positive change and investment, and there’s a genuine opportunity here to grow with the business. What’s on offer: • £25 to £27 per hour depending on experience • Chargehand bonus paid on top • 4 on 4 off day shift, 6am to 6pm • Full training and ongoing development (including EV and licence upgrades) • Free London bus and tube travel • Work with a supportive management team that values your input • A strong team culture with modern diagnostic tools and diverse vehicles What you’ll be doing: • Leading the engineering team during your shift • Overseeing PCV maintenance, inspections and repairs • Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults • Ensuring compliance, efficiency and health 'safety standards are upheld • Liaising with Engineering Management to maintain smooth operations What we’re looking for: • NVQ Level 3 in Bus & Coach or HGV Maintenance (or equivalent) • Proven experience in a technician or chargehand role • Strong diagnostics and repair capability • Supervisory or leadership experience • IRTEC or PCV licence preferred but not essential If you’re looking for a stable role within a well-run depot where you can genuinely progress, I’d love to hear from you.
