Job SummaryWould you like to make a difference to your local community and feel a personal sense of reward in providing support to those who have been bereaved?Do you have knowledge of the grieving process, experience of managing people and working as a team member as well as on your own?Do you have good interpersonal and communication skills?If you answer Yes to the above, then you may be the person we are looking for!Main duties of the jobTo agree a caseload with the Head of Care Services commensurate to the hours worked Develop the service to meet the needs of the community Work with other team members such as resident counsellor to ensure triage referral process meets the needs of the service To ensure that all external funders outcomes are met and that we are responsive to the needs of the Community To work in partnership with other agencies to provide seamless support for pre and post bereavement clients To empower clients to develop their long-term coping strategies following bereavement To ensure that practice remains up to date and evidence based To take responsibility for ensuring that DBS requirements are met for all volunteers To liaise with nursing colleagues where necessary regarding patients and clients To maintain client confidentiality at all times and work within GDPR regulations To be aware of and work towards achievement of the Hospices strategic goalsAbout UsHospiceCare North Northumberland is a charity that provides end of life care, bereavement support and activities for those with dementia across North Northumberland.We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion to support adults at a vulnerable time in their lives. The postholder will also identify opportunities for income generation to support services development, including the provision of Wellbeing services to local businesses. The post holder will be responsible for triaging and allocating referrals to appropriate person & carrying a case load.
