Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from GTS Group Ltd Job Title:Field Telematics & Tachograph Engineer Location:Milton Keynes and Surrounding Areas Employment Type:Full-Time / Permanent Salary:Competitive (Depending on experience £30,000 - £35,000) + Ford Transit Custom + Door to Door Payments Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivatedField Engineerto join our growing team, specializing in theinstallation, maintenance, and support of tachographs, telematics systems, and CAN bus integrations . This mobile role will coverMilton Keynes and nearby regions , supporting our fleet and transport clients with high-quality, compliant installations and diagnostics. Key Responsibilities: Install and calibratedigital tachograph systems(Stoneridge/VDO) in commercial vehicles. Fit and commissiontelematics hardware(GPS/GSM tracking, fleet management systems). Connect and interpretCAN bus and FMS datafor telematics integration. Diagnose and resolve faults in vehicle electrical and telematics systems. Perform remote tachograph download system setup and configuration. Liaise directly with customers on-site to ensure installations meet specifications. Maintain accurate service records, installation reports, and compliance documents. Adhere to DVSA and industry regulations related to tachograph calibration and telematics installations. Requirements: Proven experience invehicle telematics or tachograph installation . Strong understanding ofCAN bus systems , 12V/24V electrical wiring, and diagnostics. Familiar withVDO Workshop Tools , multimeters, and basic diagnostic equipment. Full UK driving licence. Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet customer expectations. DVSA-approved tachograph installer or calibration certification. Experience with brands such asWebfleet, Quartix, Fleetmatics , or similar. Knowledge of OBD-II and J1939 protocols.
