Join to apply for theAdvanced Musculoskeletal Podiatristrole atOCM Ireland Clinical Duties:To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients with complex biomechanical problems, organizing this efficiently regarding clinical priorities and time management. To ensure high standards of clinical care for your patients and colleagues. Conduct comprehensive specialist assessments, treatments, and evaluate outcomes for MSK patients with various presentations. This includes investigating and analyzing complex facts to formulate individualized MSK treatment plans. The work will be carried out in clinics and hospital settings. Make referrals to diagnostic services, interpret results, and coordinate onward referrals to secondary care or other providers. Provide advice, teaching, and instructions to patients, relatives, carers, and professionals to meet MSK service aims and ensure consistent patient care, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. Provide in-house training to embed core biomechanical skills within the Podiatry Service. Recognize when patient needs could be better met by staff of a lower band and refer accordingly. Communicate complex, sensitive information effectively, including assessing capacity, gaining informed consent, and working within legal frameworks for patients lacking capacity. Maintain clinical records per organizational policy and professional standards. Ensure accurate maintenance of ECCH’s clinical system, SystmOne, to optimize patient care. Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and high-quality care. Liaise with other agencies within ECCH and externally, including health and social care organizations. Communicate complex disease processes and foot health issues clearly to patients and carers, addressing potential barriers to understanding. Maintain accurate records of consultations and related work, including data collection. Attend departmental meetings and in-service training. Keep all patient and staff information confidential, adhering to organizational policies.
