We welcome applications from band 6 Dietitians, orfrom established band 5 Dietitians who are ready to step up to a more seniorlevel. This fixed term post provides the opportunity towork within specialist areas including gastroenterology and surgery, workingclosely with the Medical and Surgical Team Lead Dietitians and other SpecialistBand 6 Dietitians. You will also be able to develop and take part in staffteaching and training, audits and evaluations and maintain your continuousprofessional development. The post includes providing support for our band 5dietitians and our dietetic assistant practitioners . There will be opportunityto conduct and manage an exciting anddynamic outpatient clinic providing care to outpatients with varied nutritionalconcerns ranging from IBS to nutrition support. You will be anintegral part of our friendly Dietetic Department and have excellent supportfrom the wider Dietetic Team which includes Dietetic Assistant Practitionersand a dedicated Administration Team. You will have the opportunity to supervisestudent dietitians on their placements and support junior members of your teamin their training and development. We are a proactive department where personalcontinuing development is promoted, therefore attendance on study days isoffered in line with identified learning needs. Person SpecificationQualificationsBSc or equivalent degree in Dietetics or Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics Evidence of other post-registration education and training, e.g. PENG Member of the British Dietetic Association Behaviour Change Skills Training Courses Skills and AbilitiesPlan and prioritise patient work load and operational workload. Demonstrate excellent time management skills. Assessment and analysis of complex dietetic problems. Develop appropriate interventions, monitor, evaluate and adapt dietetic treatment as required. Able to plan, deliver and evaluate training/education programmes to student dietitians, students from other disciplines and a variety of NHS and non-NHS staff groups. Skilled in behavioural change and counselling techniques. Able to work independently and on own initiative ExperienceSignificant clinical post-registration dietetic experience, including specific experience of working in the acute hospital setting.
