Successful applicants will work in the Orthopaedic Theatre/General Surgery Theatre/Recovery under the direction of a Registered Practitioner to help care for patients in the perioperative and postoperative phase. This opportunity will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for a career within the NHS. No theatre experience is necessary, as full training will be provided, however knowledge of working in theatres or a health care setting would be an advantage. Applicants will work towards completing Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Programme within 18-24 month timescale. NO AGENCIES PLEASE Main duties of the jobSuccessful applicants will work under the direction of a Registered Practitioner to perform a range of delegated clinical duties and assist in the safe care of patients within the Peri-operative environment such as for example setting up theatres, performing daily safety checks, performing the circulating role and stocking up. You will need to have a willingness to learn with excellent communication skills, IT skills will be advantageous. You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Programme within an 18-24 month timescale. You will have a tutor from a local education provider guiding you through your apprenticeship and will receive appropriate support from registered practitioners and clinical educator within the department to help you achieve your apprenticeship and gain necessary skills for the role. To abide by Trust policies and procedures. Maintain patients privacy and dignity at all times and provide care in a compassionate and sensitive manner. Be an effective part of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to the departmental objectives. Contribute to housekeeping and other departmental duties as required, eg general tidiness, pre-determined stock levels are met and clinical equipment is clean, working and stored correctly. Assist with administrative and clerical duties as required. You will need to be able to meet all the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the apprenticeship criteria to undertake the role.
