The Great Western Hospital is a busy district general hospital that serves a wide population across Swindon and Wiltshire. We are a JACIE accredited centre for haematopoietic stem cell transplant services and we are also part of the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance.The Pharmacy department is at the heart of the Trust's programme to move forward and transform itself, using technology and new ways of working, to put Medicines Management at the heart of our clinical pharmacy services. Our department has two robotic storage and dispensing systems, and has implemented electronic prescribing in our out-patient and chemotherapy clinics.We're entering an exciting new phase in cancer care, with our radiotherapy unit already running smoothly and a brand-new aseptic unit about to go live. As we begin work on a cutting-edge in-house aseptic services facility--alongside a state-of-the-art radiotherapy treatment centre--we're building a future-focused cancer strategy that will transform care for the next generation.
