Job Title: Personnel Security ManagerSalary Circa 55,000 per annum Full time/37 hrs a week/ 9 - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Based location is Lancaster House in Huntingdon but travel across the Anglian Water region is required. Anglian Water offers a flexible approach to working, this role provides you with the opportunity to combine working from home and from Anglian Water sites/offices. Your based location will be Lancaster House in Huntingdon but regular travel across the region visiting sites will be required. We're looking for a Personnel Security Manager with a strong demonstrable background in Personnel Security. This is a key role where you'll oversee vetting and screening processes, manage insider threat programmes, and ensure compliance with national security standards including the Security & Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD). You'll work collaboratively across the business and with external partners to identify risks, implement protective measures, and embed a culture of security awareness throughout the organisation. What you'll be doing: - Develop and enforce personnel security policies and procedures in line with national legislation and SEMD requirements. - Lead the creation of a security risk management process for personnel security across the organisation. - Act as the primary contact for personnel security issues, liaising with government authorities and supporting investigations. - Design and manage a programme of work to detect and mitigate insider threats. - Collaborate with cyber and physical security teams to protect operational technology environments. - Conduct role-based personnel risk assessments using NPSA's PSRM and RBRA methodologies. - Oversee vetting and screening processes for employees, contractors, and third-party personnel. - Deliver induction and refresher training on personnel security and insider threat awareness. - Support investment cases for future security improvements and regulatory compliance. - Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in line with Anglian Water's "Safer Every Day" philosophy. What does it take to be successful? - Degree-level education or equivalent experience. - Proven experience in a previous personnel security role is required. - Strong understanding of UK government vetting processes and security frameworks. - Leadership and team management experience. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and investigative skills. - High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information. - Background knowledge of the water industry or other highly regulated sectors. - Proficiency in Office 365 and project management tools. - A full UK driving licence. - Certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISMP and/or security clearance (SC/DV) are desirable.
