As our technical leader, you will be a strategic partner to the Director of Product & Technology and CEO, responsible for defining the technical vision, managing our development team, and being a hands-on contributor to our platform. This role requires a balance of leadership, deep technical expertise, and a passion for building both great products and a great engineering culture.Values Profile:All team members must have a personal commitment to unleashing potential in our society by aligning their behaviours to our values:Be innovative seek and welcome new approaches to everyday tasks and behavioursBe inclusive understand, respect, and respond to the intersectional needs of our team and our clientsChallenge the status quo question and evaluate existing structures and processesRemove barriers focus on efficiency and performance by eradicating bias and exclusive processesHeres what youll do:Lead and Manage Engineering: Take full ownership of our development team, ensuring they are effective, accountable, and aligned with our product roadmap.Be a Hands-On Leader: While strategic, you will be expected to contribute to the codebase, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance to the team.Architect for the Future: Design and oversee a scalable, secure, and reliable system architecture, making key decisions on technology and infrastructure.Build a Strong Partnership: Forge a strong, collaborative relationship with our Chief Product Officer, translating product vision into a deliverable technical strategy.Drive Technical Excellence: Be proactive in identifying and addressing tech debt, championing best practices, and ensuring the long-term health of our platform.Document and Communicate: Create and maintain high-level architectural documentation and provide regular updates on technical progress and challenges to the executive team.Build the Future Team: Be responsible for defining our future in-house engineering culture and leading the recruitment of new technical team members as we grow.Experience RequiredPrevious industry experience in a leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or previous Head of Technology) with a background in hands-on development.Proven experience leading technical projects and managing developers (in-house or outsourced).Deep understanding of cloud environments (GCP preferred, but expertise in any major cloud provider is welcome) and SaaS platforms.Well-versed in Python, Django and Databases that includes PostgreSQL, Mongo, Neo4j.Experience designing and building scalable systems, ideally with microservice architectures.Proven ability to create clear technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and strategic roadmaps.Working knowledge of modern security principles and best practices.Experience withAI/ML workloadsandTerraformis highly beneficial.Skills RequiredStrategic Thinking:Ability to see the bigger picture and make technical decisions that support long-term business goals.Leadership & Mentoring:A passion for leading teams and helping other engineers grow.Excellent Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels, from developers Customer and with the CSuite..Problem-Solving:Excellent ability to diagnose complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.Pragmatism:An understanding of the trade-offs required in a startup environment, balancing speed with quality.Business Acumen: Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.About usTalentMapper was founded with a mission to improve talent management, removing traditional barriers to career growth and development and unleash the potential of all people in the workplace, so they can achieve extraordinary results.Its personal for us most of our team have faced and overcome barriers (such associal mobility) in organisations, based on our backgrounds and we are determined to create change, helping those in our reach to achieve their potential.So we provide an end to end, new SaaS platform for managing talent.
