Job Description

To support the inpatient and outpatient service in Paediatrics and Neonates at Warwick HospitalWhilst on duty, the post holder has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients. It is also the duty of the post holder to: Keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition. Involve patients and/or their carers if appropriate in decision making about their treatment. Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council and comply in particular with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical PracticeMain duties of the jobClinical Governance will include In conjunction with Consultant colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.General elements will include: To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.To be able to work flexibly. To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development. To contribute to the research and development of the department. To provide cover for colleagues as appropriate and in accordance with local Trust arrangements and Trust Policy. To observe the Trust's agreed policies and procedures To take responsibility for your own health and safety complying with any safe working arrangements, policies and procedures which are in place. To accept a duty to other staff and patients to ensure that any hazards are reported and managed appropriately.
