Less than full time/ part time applicants would be considered. The Integrated Breast Service sits within the newly formed Cancer Division. The West Sussex Screening Service is one of the busiest units inviting 128,000 women. We receive over 7,500 GP referrals and treating over 900 new breast cancers annually. Symptomatic patients are seen in one stop clinics where triple assessment is carried out. Reconstructive procedures include IBR, LICAP, LTAP, MICAP flaps, complex therapeutic mammoplasties, autologous reconstruction procedures combined with Plastics. RF Localiser is being trialed. This presents an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of this Service, with innovative pathway redesigns or service models, engaging in a new monthly oncoplastic MDT, building further links with our Plastic Surgical colleagues at QVH, participating in the development of a portfolio of multi-disciplinary and surgical research, participating in undergraduate and postgraduate training, as well that of allied health care professionals. The Integrated Breast Services Division covers St.Richards Hospital in Chichester, as well as Worthing Hospital, and Preston Park Breast Centre and Princess Royal Hospital, Brighton Main duties of the jobThe post holder will participate in: One stop outpatient clinics Result clinics Weekly MDT Theatre sessions Support teaching & training of medical students, junior doctors & AHPs National trial recruitment The service is looking at innovative pathway models and service redesigns, with delivery of key national performance targets. The service has a good working relationship with the regional plastics service at Queen Victoria Hospital, with monthly representation to the joint plastics MDT. The service has been actively engaging with implementing Getting Right First Time (GIRFT) recommendations. There are 6 breast surgeon posts working across both Worthing & Chichester and they have developed a good reputation within the Trust in terms of extending the boundaries of reconstructive expertise. We have a close working relationship with our colleagues at Brighton with Pan-Trust Integrated Breast Services joining Clinical Governance 3-4 times a year. These are 3 Specialty Doctor posts working across Worthing & Chichester, KSS Higher Specialty Registrars and a Surgical Care Practitioner supporting out-patient clinics, wound check clinics and theatre support. If you trained in the UK, you must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date. If you trained outside the UK, you must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT.
