If you are a practitioner outside of the local area we would welcome your application and there is a very generous relocation package available to support you.What you'll be doing As ourScrub Practitioner , you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth, safe, and high-quality theatre operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Supporting and delivering safe patient care throughout the perioperative journey. Assisting with surgical procedures across a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmics, Gynaecology, and General Surgery. Maintaining accurate clinical observations and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition. Leading and supporting junior colleagues, contributing to the learning and development of the wider team. Assisting in equipment management, stock control, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards. Participating in clinical audits, data collection and driving improvements in theatre practice. Engaging in teaching, supervision, and professional development activities, contributing to a culture of learning. What we’ll look for in you As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), you will also have – Recent experience at Band 5 level in a theatre setting Proven ability to scrub in for a variety of surgical procedures Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centred care A positive, flexible attitude and a collaborative approach to teamwork A passion for continuous development and contributing to a high-quality surgical service A recognised post-registration qualification in theatre or day surgery - desirable Experience in clinical supervision, change management, or audit and research activities - desirable What you can expect in return: A salary of£43,639depending on your skills and experience Work 37.5 hours per week over 4 days (Mon-Sat 0700-1700) 25 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidays A wide range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits Ongoing professional development and in-house training opportunities To apply for the role, click on the link below.
