This is a newly funded opportunity to lead a high-profile PEACEPLUS programme designed to empower and connect ethnic and minority communities across the region. About First Steps Women's Centre First Steps Women's Centre (FSWC), based in Dungannon, is a trusted provider of education, empowerment, and support services in Mid Ulster. With a 27-year legacy of promoting inclusion and progression, the Centre now expands its outreach through the Unity in Diversity programme - working with both men and women across a wide range of ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. About the Programme - Unity in Diversity Unity in Diversity is a PEACEPLUS-funded, three-year initiative that will reach over 500 participants across Dungannon, Cookstown, Magherafelt, and surrounding areas. With a focus on migrant, ethnic minority, and marginalised communities, the programme delivers storytelling, cultural awareness, civic dialogue, and training activities aimed at promoting inclusion and connection. About the Role As Programme Manager, you will lead the full delivery of Unity in Diversity - from co-design through to reporting and evaluation. You'll coordinate all programme activities, manage partnerships, oversee staff and volunteers, and serve as the primary contact for communities, funders, and stakeholders. This is a hands-on, community-based role requiring excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and experience working in diverse, grassroots environments. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all programme elements from co-design through to final evaluation Deliver inclusive community engagement strategies Build relationships with ethnic minority and migrant communities Organise cultural awareness sessions, campaigns, and public events Oversee budget tracking, reporting, and governance requirements Ensure safeguarding, data protection, and health 'safety compliance Supervise project staff and volunteers Develop narrative and financial reports for the funder Essential Criteria Third-level qualification or 4+ years of relevant experience Experience in good relations, community engagement, or diversity-focused work Experience coordinating events, workshops, or training Familiarity with working in partnership with local agencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness Self-motivated, organised, and confident working independently Willingness to travel across Mid Ulster Full UK driving licence and access to transport Desirable Criteria Experience of working on EU or PEACE-funded programmes Multilingual or lived experience of migration Outcomes-based accountability or evaluation experience Knowledge of Section 75 and local equality legislation Why Join FSWC Lead a pioneering, inclusive, and high-impact regional programme Make a meaningful difference to hundreds of people across diverse communities Join a supportive team committed to equity, dignity, and human rights Enjoy flexibility and strong values-driven leadership Location: Based in Dungannon, with travel across Mid Ulster (Cookstown, Magherafelt, etc.) Hours: 30 hours per week Salary: £32,978 per annum (£21.14/hr) Contract: Fixed-term October 2025 - September 2028 (3-year post) Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, flexible working considered You might be currently working as: Community Development Manager, Programme Coordinator, Good Relations Officer, Equality and Inclusion Lead, Engagement Manager, or similar.
