We are proud to employ some of the best people in their field and to nurture their talent in a dynamic, flexible and highly stimulating culture where world-beating ideas are cultivated and rewarded.This role is based in our new Soho Place office opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.The roleWere looking for a seasoned and strategic Head of Security Engineering to shape the next phase of security at G-Research.This is a key leadership role, responsible for protecting sensitive data and maintaining a robust, forward-looking security posture across our technology landscape.Based within the Technology department, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the CTO, executive leadership and partner teams to ensure security engineering is tightly integrated with our broader objectives.Key responsibilities of the role include:Leadership and strategyLeading the Security Engineering function, including hiring, mentoring and performance managementDefining and delivering the security engineering roadmap aligned to technology strategy and enterprise risk appetiteDeveloping talent in line with G-Research values, modelling leadership behaviours, coaching teams to their strengths and fostering a supportive environmentSecurity architecture and engineeringDriving secure design and implementation across on-premises and cloud environmentsOverseeing advanced security capabilities such as endpoint protection, identity and access management, encryption, network and application securityLeading threat modelling and vulnerability management effortsGovernance, risk and complianceAligning security engineering with internal controls, regulatory obligations and industry best practiceSupporting audits, assessments and compliance initiatives in collaboration with the CTO, operations and engineering teamsIncident response and resilienceContributing to technical incident response, including containment, investigation and remediationCollaborating on resilience and business continuity strategies to protect critical assets and operationsCollaboration and stakeholder managementActing as a subject matter expert across technology and business teamsCommunicating security risks and priorities effectively to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadershipPromoting a culture of security awareness and partnership across the organisationWho are we looking for?The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen and a deep understanding of engineering, security, risk and governance frameworks appropriate for our environment.Skills and experience:Extensive experience in cybersecurity with at least five years in a security engineering leadership roleProven experience designing and implementing enterprise security engineering solutionsDeep understanding of security and risk management principles and secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)Experience working in a financial services, investment management or family office environmentFamiliarity with modern and legacy architectures and DevSecOps practicesAbility to work with team members well, with humility, respect and care for othersPreferredProfessional certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GIAC.Exposure to privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, and financial compliance requirementsExperience with insider threat programs, data loss prevention (DLP) and zero-trust security modelsBehavioural CompetenciesStrategic mindset with a hands-on approach to executionStrong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skillsHigh level of discretion and integrityAbility to operate in a fast-paced, high-trust, and confidential environmentWhy should you apply?Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonusLunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar30 days annual leave9% company pension contributionsInformal dress code and excellent work/life balanceComprehensive healthcare and life assuranceCycle-to-work schemeMonthly company events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
