Social network you want to login/join with: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE • The Costs Lawyer will join the Costs Team who support the firm's Disputes Group by providing legal advice on costs-related matters. • In this role, you will operate across our Disputes Group, encompassing a diverse range of practice areas such as Commercial Disputes, Finance Disputes, Real Estate Disputes, Construction Disputes, Insolvency Disputes and Intellectual Property Disputes. From a day-to-day perspective, the successful candidate will: • Prepare all costs related documents, providing tailored costs advice. • Liaise with fee-earners to manage expectations. • Ensure compliance with relevant procedural rules and regulations. This role directly contributes to the firm's Disputes Group's success, enhances client satisfaction, and supports the firm's overall financial performance. The firm is experiencing increased demand for costs-related expertise due to growth. This hire will strengthen the Costs Team and ensure the firm continues to deliver exceptional client service. WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE • We are seeking a skilled, forward-thinking Costs Lawyer to join our growing Costs Team, where you will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice and support on costs-related matters. Working closely with our Dispute Group, you will deliver high-quality, commercially focused solutions on complex, high-calibre matters for leading clients across multiple jurisdictions. • Our Costs Team is integral to the firm's success, and we are committed to staying at the forefront of innovation and technology within the legal industry. YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE To be successful in this role, any candidate will need: • Comprehensive experience in all stages of detailed assessment. Experience in drafting bills, points of dispute, points of reply, attend hearings. • Work collaboratively on settlements, offering strategic advice on settlement parameters. • Comprehensive experience in all stages of costs management. Experience in drafting precedent H budgets, precedent R discussion reports, precedent T forms for budget variations and monitoring legal spend. • Preparation of N260 schedules of costs for summary assessments, schedules of costs to support requests for payments on account, and schedules of costs for arbitrations. • Experience in preparing costs estimates to support security for costs application. • Strong background in legal cost assessment and management. • Ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver high-quality, accurate outputs within agreed timeframes. • Ability to provide strategic advice and manage complex legal tasks.
