Job Description

We’re working with a leading Australian creative agency who are looking for a talented and driven Senior Designer to play a key role in establishing and growing their UK presence. Initially focused on one of their most important global clients, this role will see you take on the position of brand guardian for the EMEA region. You’ll be working closely with internal teams and international stakeholders to maintain brand consistency, push creative standards, and bring the brand to life across a wide range of touchpoints. We’re seeking a self-starter who’s comfortable working independently, but also thrives in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams across time zones. With strong creative instincts, attention to detail and technical skills to match, the Senior Designer drives projects from ideation through to full rollout and final art. Project types span campaigns, events and BAU content. With applications across print (Press, OOH, promo materials, event collateral), and digital (social, email, digital display, DOOH, motion storyboards, presentations). Working in the UK Office This is a unique opportunity to be the first creative team member in our UK agency. While you’ll work closely with the Account Director in the UK, as well as the Design Lead and wider creative team in Australia, you’ll also be the go-to designer on the ground — which means you’ll need to be: – Self-directed and highly organised, with the ability to manage your own time and priorities – A strong communicator, confident presenting and collaborating across time zones – Eager to roll up your sleeves and handle both concept and craft, from strategy to execution – Open to learning, growing, and building, as we expand our presence in the UK – Comfortable operating as a one-person band (for now!) — able to balance independence with team connection As the UK team grows, you’ll also help shape the culture, creative standard, and client relationships in the region. Stay hungry – Hard work, grit and determination are the ingredients to both personal success as well as the success of the business Key responsibilities Project Development & Delivery – Demonstrates confidence in being able to deliver medium to large design projects – Demonstrates the ability to develop creative concepts, moodboards and design mockups – Demonstrates advanced skills and understanding of software required to deliver projects – Demonstrates the ability to lead, manage and deliver complex design projects – Prepares and reviews final artwork files – Demonstrates strong ideation, problem-solving and client-facing presentation skills – Has introduced new skills and techniques to improve the quality of our work Project Management – Delivers projects on time and on budget – Demonstrates the ability to work through timing estimates and meet deadlines – Demonstrates the ability to work with other team members to ensure a disciplined approach to tidy projects and filing protocol – Development of templates and guides for internal and external use Growth – Lead the UK design team and support business growth – Continually identifies new team and business opportunities – Demonstrates the ability to mentor team members in their learning and development – Demonstrates the ability to direct team members resulting in more creative, effective and efficient ways of working Leadership – Demonstrates their active voice and participates within the agency and industry – Demonstrates an advanced level of creative flair in their work – Demonstrates a valuable contribution to the Creative Development team – Demonstrates proactive ideas to develop the brand – Be an active contributor Strategic thinking – Demonstrates a clear understanding of the the strategic process – Interprets strategic insights into creative solutions – Demonstrates the ability to integrate design into strategic brand and campaign projects – Demonstrates the ability to develop and express a creative brief Skills and attributes Experience – 4–6 years’ experience in a fast-paced creative or branding studio – A strong portfolio that shows your creative thinking, craft, and strategic approach – Experience in dynamic, high-output environments such as creative agencies or tech companies – Proven record of leading projects and owning the creative process from start to finish Qualifications – Degree or Certificate in graphic design, visual arts or related field Skills and knowledge – High-level proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Slides, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Google Web Designer is a bonus but not essential – Highly refined design sensibility – ability to discover and articulate design principles and apply design solutions to the project at hand – Ability to understand and apply established visual identities – Owning projects through all phases from ideation to final execution – Highly skilled across a wide range of digital and print mediums – Understanding of file formats and output/preparation specifications across digital and print – Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a team – Strong communication and presentation skills — both visually and verbally – A natural problem solver who loves turning complexity into clarity Personal attributes – Encompasses our values of; Be the most curious person you know; Good company makes a good company; Say what you mean, mean what you say; Stay hungry. – Curious, proactive, and passionate about making great work even better – Attention to detail to ensure we deliver on expectation, quality and on time – Self-management, forward-thinking and proactivity are essential for strong team environments Salary £55-60k pro-rata, based on a 4 day working week#J-18808-Ljbffr
