Your role We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Health & Safety to join Rygor Group, the award-winning automotive Dealer Group which also has a robust manufacturing arm. In this vital role, you’ll take ownership and accountability of all Health & Safety operations across our business, leading and supporting a network of vehicle workshops, factories and offices, across the UK. I have progressed from being the Receptionist to now assisting with all aspects of health and safety in branch.” – Caroline ️Day to day, you will be: Lead the development and delivery of our Health & Safety strategy across all Rygor Group sites, including our manufacturing factories. Ensure compliance with all relevant and current legislation, policies, and best practices. You’re in the know and are always away of new and potential changes to legislation and H&S law, and will make updates and changes in-house to ensure the team’s H&S and company compliance in line with ISO 14001 and 45001 Be a visible, approachable presence, supporting site managers, technicians, and teams directly, in a hands-on manner. Ensure completion of H&S training across the Group, via both eLearning and in-person channels. You will engender employee engagement through training, mentoring, site visits, and toolbox talks Lead and manage incident management with site managers and ensure timely completion of actions raised. Report on accidents/incidents and major business risks associated with HSE to the board and unit managers as they occur. Conduct site audits internally, to identify and mitigate and risks. Ensure company and site risk assessment and H&S policies are up to date and all employees are aware of them. Collaborate with senior leadership to align H&S goals with wider business objectives. Embed a safety-first mindset that empowers everyone to take ownership Report weekly to business leaders with a H&S update. About you To be successful in this role, you’ll have: Must be located in the UK Extensive Health & Safety leadership experience, specifically within commercial vehicle workshops or a similar operational environment, so you understand the nuances of this industry. Fully aware of all requirements under PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, HAVS, LOTO, contractor management and SSOW/RAMS and can simplify these requirement to the appropriate audience A Lead auditor, you will be able to identify gaps within HSE and create solutions and timelines for remedy You take action! You see what needs to be done and get a plan in place to ensure it is, often that you put into action and undertake yourself. NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals and relevant professional body membership (e.g. IOSH). Multi Site experience would be advantageous A practical, hands-on approach with strong communication and coaching skills – you are not a delegator, but take action yourself and develop those around you.
