Contract DetailsContract: Secondment, 12 months, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Job SummaryThe post holder will work closely with the Cancer Manager/Head of Performance, leading on key service delivery areas within Cancer. Responsibilities include exercising initiative, prioritising conflicting demands, and effective communication with operational teams and external departments to ensure excellence in patient care. Influence and persuasion skills are essential. Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with MDT coordinators across Trusts to ensure efficient patient transfers, maintaining shared responsibility for national cancer targets, and facilitating weekly specialist discussions. Collect, monitor, and manage data related to NHS National Waiting Times Standards (14, 31, and 62-day targets), ensuring compliance and reporting weekly in collaboration with MDT members and cancer managers. Maintain and improve data collection across cancer pathways, developing processes for national datasets using the Somerset Cancer Register. Assist in producing weekly reports for submission to the Department of Health, NHS England, CCGs, and clinical teams as required.
