We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion and Haematology to join our team at the UHCW site. To apply you must be HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist, have completed an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology or equivalent and have experience working as a band 5 in Blood Transfusion and Haematology in an NHS laboratory. The successful candidate must be willing to manage a busy workload, be forward thinking and keen to develop new skills. You must have good communication skills, be able to work successfully as part of a team and be able to work on your own initiative.To apply you must be HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist, have completed an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology or a BBTS Specialist Certificate in Transfusion or equivalent and have experience working as a band 5 in Blood Transfusion and Haematology in an NHS laboratory.Participation in the 24/7 shift rota is expected of the successful candidate.Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.RequiredAs a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Pathology the post holder is responsible for the delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose medical laboratory service analysing and reporting on blood samples.
