Job overviewThis is a unique role for an experienced registered nurse with a specific interest in liver disease to work with the existing liver team. The team provides a Trust wide service and is committed to a partnership with the community to provide continuing expert care. The post holder will support the Liver Nurse specialist to run the ED opt out testing programme testing for viral hepatitis alongside the HIV team. The post holder will also be expected to act as an informed resource, and role model, whilst developing competencies as a clinical expert in the field of Liver disease. To provide and maintain high standards of care to patients with Liver conditions; supervised by the Liver Nurse Specialist. Have the ability to complete data on a local database in preparation to upload to a national database. Main duties of the jobIntegral member of the Liver team providing expert knowledge and care to patients partaking in the ED opt out blood borne testing scheme. Provide excellent, evidence based, clinical nursing for individuals found to have Viral hepatitis /Liver disease To undertake and support / educate other to perform diagnostic tests within the field of viral hepatitis. To act as a resource to the Trust and Primary Health care setting.
