Caseload will mainly be Prevention and Diversion/Early Intervention cases; however, may also include some young people that are subject to statutory court orders. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable enforcing sentences of the court; act as lead practitioner, assess, plan and deliver structured programmes of support (Prevention and statutory); support the young people, their family and others through their programme; address their risk factors and strengthen their resilience; motivate and engage them in the wider positive activities with the overall aim of preventing offending and reducing reoffending through achieving sustained positive change in their attitudes and anti-social/offending behaviour. To provide support and advice to parents/carers of young people who are subject to YJS supervision.Key experience, knowledge and skills include assessment / report writing and an ability to interpret and apply Youth Justice legislation.To represent the team within a variety of settings, including Community Panels; home visits, multi-agency /professionals meetings; schools/education settings; CSC meeting etc.The post will require a reflective practitioner who can help lead the way in delivering creative interventions for young people (on a one to one and group basis) as well as help develop peer support and challenge arrangements within the team to support continual improvement practices.This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.
