Job Title: Head of ITLocation:Central London (hybrid working available)Salary:circa 65,000 per annum benefitsHours:35 hours per week (Full-time, permanent)Department:ITReports to:Director of Finance and ResourcesJob OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experiencedHead of ITto lead the IT strategy, operations, and team. This pivotal role ensures technology infrastructure and systems effectively support members, staff, and long-term organisational goals.You will manage the full IT function, lead strategic development, and oversee the delivery of secure, resilient, and innovative IT services across the organisation. You will also act as the senior technical lead for enterprise applications, systems administration, cybersecurity,databases, and staff training.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic IT LeadershipDevelop and deliver the IT strategy in alignment with organisational goalsAdvise senior leadership on IT enhancements and digital transformationLead IT projects and change programmes ensuring value and successful deliveryManage departmental budgets, staff, and third-party suppliersContribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planningProduce strategic reports for Trustees and the Finance CommitteeIT Operations ManagementOversee support for enterprise systems including library management, CRM, accounting, productivity, and collaboration softwareEnsure cybersecurity protocols, backups, and IT policies are in place and regularly reviewedAdminister physical and virtual server infrastructure and manage Windows-based networksMaintain network, DNS, domain, email systems, and telephone systemsProvide end-user support and training for staff and membersManage PC, printer, scanner support and peripherals, including software (Windows, Office, Outlook)Oversee public internet and Wi-Fi access for membersMaintain and develop audio-visual systemsManage databases with strong SQL capability for integrations, data quality, reporting, and performance optimisationCompliance & Data ProtectionAct as the lead on GDPR and data protection complianceEnsure adherence to security standards such as PCI DSSTeam Management & TrainingManage the Systems Administrator and IT AssistantSupport staff onboarding and ongoing training on IT systemsOversee documentation and guides to ensure smooth IT operationsPerson SpecificationEssential Skills & Experience:Degree or professional qualification in IT, IT Management, or related fieldProven experience managing both cloud and on-premises IT environmentsStrong SQL and database experience essential including development, optimisation, and administrationStrong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, 365, Active Directory, and DefenderExperience supporting enterprise systems such as CRM, library management, or accounting systemsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsExperience managing IT projects and departmental budgetsDeep understanding of GDPR, cybersecurity, and data protection standardsDesirable:Experience with Dynamics 365, HTML, CSS, PHP, and cloud business applicationsITIL 4 or similar IT service management qualificationExperience working within membership organisations or librariesBenefitsCompetitive salary and generous benefits packageHybrid working available (remote and on-site)Located in central LondonJoin a respected and established organisation serving a diverse membershipHow to ApplyApply with your CV to be considered for this position.
