However, you will be expected to work at any of the SWLP sites as and when required. This is a predominantly night shift rolesuited for motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with a minimum of 18 months post-registration experience working in a busy biochemistry department. You will be required to commit toworking 3 weekday nights for 37.5 hours per week. You will also be expected to work one week of core day shifts every 3 monthsto complete any necessary training. Successful candidates will be supported to undertake various CPD activities to include both in-house/external programmes as well as post-graduate study programmes. Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment will be an advantage, but full training will be provided. Main duties of the jobPredominantly night shift worker in Biochemistry department Maintenance and routine operation of Beckman Coulter equipment (AU5812, DxI9000 and DxA5000) Technical validation and escalation (where required) of test results during the out of hours shift. Prioritization of urgent samples to ensure test results are reported in a timely manner. Supervision of biomedical support staff working in the main pathology reception during the night shift. Liaising with Haematology/BT night shift BMS to provide a quality out of service to the hospital at all times. Ensuring your mandatory and statutory training (MAST) is always up to date. Maintain CPD record to comply with HCPC registration requirements. Competences in WinPath LIMS and Cerner Millennium PAS would be an advantage but full training will be provided. The Biochemistry Laboratory is equipped with Beckman AU5812, DxI 9000 and DXA 5000 track for pre and post analytic automation. Haematology is equipped with ACL Top 570, Beckman Coulter DxH 900 with AutoMate 1200 for pre/post analytics, as well as Immucor IRIS for automated Blood Transfusion services. The Croydon University Hospital CBS Laboratory is UKAS accredited and has IBMS approval for training Biomedical Scientists to registration and specialist BMS level.
