Are you an enthusiastic person interested in laboratory work? We are looking for Medical Laboratory Assistants in our Haematology and Transfusion department in Chelmsford. In accordance with agreed protocols and standard operational procedures, you will participate in the analysis of biological samples by receiving, preparing, and processing samples under the supervision of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered staff. This includes clerical input of patient and test details into the laboratory computer system and performing supportive duties such as preparation of reagents, administrative tasks, and maintenance of equipment. The role of a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) is essential for providing a safe and efficient laboratory service by supporting qualified Biomedical Scientists. Duties include receiving samples, registering them on the computer system, preparing samples for analysis, maintaining laboratory equipment, loading samples onto analyzers, filing and retrieving samples, preparing reagents, collecting data, answering queries, general housekeeping, administrative tasks, maintaining blood stock levels, blood transfusion administrative tasks, and assisting biomedical scientists across departments.
