Your main responsibilities will be: Prioritising and planning maintenance. Leading and supervising the production teams at the coal face. Maintaining records and verifying documentation Leading and line managing a multi disciplined team of colleagues. Dealing with unplanned workload to maximise train availability. Promoting a safety culture where the team are encouraged to report hazards and participate in safety initiatives. Communicating at all levels and across the business. Owning the maintenance process and constantly striving to drive improvement. Monitoring fleet performance across the depot, out stations and the network. You'll need to be? A proven leader. Technically astute. Capable of multi-tasking. Customer focused. Safety aware. Able to coach or challenge when necessary. Very attentive to detail. A team player. As a minimum you'll need to have: Preferably NEBOSH/ IOSH trained. Proven and demonstrable experience of leading a team. A minimum of NVQ 3 in an engineering discipline or Apprentice trained. An understanding of the customer's needs. The courage and confidence to make difficult decisions often under pressure. Proven knowledge and experience of change management. Ideally previous experience of rolling stock maintenance. Additional Information: Leading the team within a new state of the art rolling stock maintenance facility in the county town of Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven leader with technical expertise to be involved in improving rail services in the Southwest and Central regions of England. You will be responsible to the Depot Manager for all aspects of the depots daily operations and contribute to GWRs and the depots strategy going forward.
