The Gastroenterology department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medical Secretary to support two Consultant Gastroenterologist We are looking for a candidate who has excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills, together with a good working knowledge of a Medical Secretary role. As a Medical Secretary, you'll be a vital link between clinical staff and patients, ensuring that medical correspondence, appointment scheduling, and record management are handled with precision and care. For an informal discussion on this post please contact Georgia , Service Manager Main duties of the jobAs a Medical Secretary, you'll play an essential role in keeping clinical operations running smoothly and efficiently. You'll be the administrative backbone of the department, ensuring that patients, consultants, and staff are supported with timely, accurate, and compassionate communication. Main Duties: Typing and Processing Clinic Letters: Accurately transcribe and distribute correspondence based on dictated notes or clinical outcomes. Patient Outcome Management: Ensure patients are promptly outcomed post-consultation and that follow-up actions are processed without delay. Appointment Coordination: Schedule patient appointments and manage diaries for consultants and clinicians. Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and confidential medical records in line with data protection guidelines. Multidisciplinary Communication: Liaise with various departments, consultants, and external agencies to facilitate cohesive care delivery. Inbox & Referral Handling: Monitor and manage shared inboxes, referrals, and queries with efficiency and courtesy.
