Senior Creative Designer – Digital PackagingLocation: Remote UKLine Manager / Points of Contact: Head of Creative, Head of Product MarketingHours: 37.5h per weekWe are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Creative Designer with a proven track record in managing product packaging in a digital-first environment. This role requires someone confident in both leading and doing, a player-manager who can inspire and guide others while rolling up their sleeves to deliver exceptional work.You will reinvent how our customers experience Twinkl resources at first glance, blending strong digital design craft with an eye for packaging, automation, and conversion-focused creativity - alongside a confident grasp of copy. While not a full copywriting role, the ideal candidate will be comfortable crafting short, impactful messaging that enhances the visual work and helps drive engagement.The successful candidate will combine leadership ability with hands-on delivery, guiding a team as it scales, and executing ideas that blend test-and-learn methods with research-driven insights. You will play a pivotal role in transforming our resource packaging/previews (the digital equivalent of an activity book cover) into compelling visual assets that combine smart design, illustration, and concise copy to increase subscriptions and product visibility.You'll work closely with our Head of Creative, Head of Product Marketing, and Head of Content Development to roll out a scalable system of automated templates across thousands of digital assets - relying on testing strategies, research, and data insights from Product Marketing, Content Development, and Product/CRO teams to inform and refine creative decisions. This is a high-impact opportunity suited to a senior designer ready to make their mark in both creative and operational leadership.How you’ll spend your day:Reimagine and lead the end-to-end design strategy for Twinkl’s resource packaging/preview images.Design visually engaging, high-converting preview templates that work at scale.Work with product, creative, and tech teams to implement automations that simplify creative production and increase consistency.Use existing resource artwork to create enhanced, emotionally engaging preview visuals that drive curiosity and action.Lead and mentor team members, providing direction, feedback, and development while contributing hands-on to key projects.Execute creative solutions informed by a blend of test-and-learn and research-based methodologies.Roll out and document design systems, templates, and style guides for long-term maintainability.Stay ahead of trends in digital packaging, subscription marketing, and automation tools to ensure Twinkl remains at the cutting edge.Collaborate with internal teams, including Product Marketing and Content Development, to make data-informed creative decisions that directly impact business outcomes.Contribute to a supportive, experimental culture that encourages bold creative thinking and iteration.Communicate clearly with stakeholders to align expectations and champion the value of strong design.To succeed in the role, you will:Have a clear, proven track record in managing product packaging in a digital-first environment.Have a solid background in digital design and illustration, ideally with experience in subscription-based products.Be passionate about packaging design principles and understand how to use visual storytelling to drive conversion.Be highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independentlyDemonstrate proven experience designing at scale, with automation and templating experience as a core skillBring experience blending test-and-learn and research to optimise creative (A/B, UX testing, or CRO).Be a player-manager – confident leading and inspiring others while remaining hands-on with design delivery.Be a collaborative communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams.Be an innovator, excited by experimentation and evolving best practices.Be deeply familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.Bonus: Illustration skills.Bonus: Experience working with front-end devs or no-code automation tools.Bonus: Experience in physical product packaging.Who this is perfect for:This role is ideal for a Senior Creative Designer looking to take ownership of a strategic, business-critical design challenge.
