Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a national disability charity in Birmingham who are seeking to appoint a Head of Safeguarding on a permanent basis. The role operates on a hybrid working model, with two days in the office.As the Head of Safeguarding, you will lead the development and delivery of safeguarding across the organisation, championing a culture where it is a core value, supporting staff and volunteers, introducing systems for reporting and learning, and ensuring disabled people with complex needs are at the heart of all safeguarding practice.The range of duties which are covered include:Act as the designated Safeguarding Lead, offering expert advice and regular support across all the organisations directorates.Develop and embed a strategic safeguarding vision aligned with the purpose and goal of the organisation.Monitor safeguarding cases, ensuring best practice and legal compliance across the organisation.Lead safeguarding training, learning and development at all levels.Represent the organisation internally and externally, sharing best practice and contributing to sector-wide improvements.Oversee safeguarding governance, policies, reporting systems, and regulator compliance.Drive continuous improvement through serious case reviews, transparent reporting, and shared learning.Experience and skills required:A safeguarding expert with deep knowledge of social care and education legislation across the UKA strategic thinker who can influence at Board level while supporting our frontline staffAn inspiring leader who thrives on collaboration, learning and challengeSomeone with a demonstrable commitment to addressing diversity and inclusion in all elements of Safeguarding policy and practice, including the ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ initiativeProven experience working in health 'social care and/or the charity sectorFor further information on the vacancy or to enquire about other suitable posts please email rbirbeck@If this position is not for you, but you know of someone who may be suitable please pass on our contact details.At Lincoln Cornhill Executive we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
