To learn more, visit .About the roleAfiniti is looking for a Lead Language Technology researcher to spearhead our generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and language technology research and development. The successful candidate for this role is a hands-on technical leader and will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of creating GenAI and language technology models from scratch, ensuring high levels of naturalness and context-appropriateness, while having acceptable computational overhead for deploying to production at massive scale.ResponsibilitiesTechnical and Scientific Leadership: Lead the design of language technology systems and protocols for AfinitiPerformance Optimisation: Optimise performance through algorithmic innovation and efficiently leveraging GPUs.Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, and foster an environment of machine learning model development best practices.Innovation and Research: Explore emerging technologies to drive innovation in product development.Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software engineering and AI technology.RequirementsMachine Learning Understanding: expert in deep learning, diffusion and transformer-based model architectures, with application to language technology models (expertise in text-to-speech synthesis is a big plus!).Strong publication record: publications in top speech and language processing and machine learning conferences and journalsStrong Machine Learning Development Skills: Proficient in Python and expert-level understanding of PyTorch and relevant deep learning packages.GPU Computing Experience: Hands-on experience with effectively leveraging GPU hardware for training and inference.DevOps and Cloud Computing Proficiency: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership experience.Location/Remote work statementThis position is fully remoteWe believe that richness in diversity is a huge asset for Afiniti.
