Job Description

Working in the programme delivery team as the subject matter expert on pay, reward and benefits, you will lead the implementation of approved pay arrangements for our government client, playing a key role in the implementation of payroll provision, and deliver pay-related policies and processes by 1 October with support from policy colleagues.You will also support a staff transfer of circa. 1000 employees and will support delivery of job evaluation solution and reward and recognition offering.This is a role on behalf of a UK government organisation, and a BPSS security check is required. Location: Remote, UKContract length: 3 months initial - possible extension to 6 monthsDay rate: £550.00 Is the role in or out of scope of IR35? In ScopeMain responsibilitiesEnsure the pay, reward and benefits team is prepared to deliver, or support the delivery of, the first annual pay award cycle, gender, ethnicity and disability pay gap reports, the annual report and accounts, transparency reporting, FOI requests, and any relevant commissions.Be the pay, reward and benefits subject matter expert in the test and implementation phases Draft and secure approval for pay-related policies, processes and guidance with support from policy colleagues.Operationalise job evaluation, including engagement with suppliers and organising training.Provide support to the staff transfer by preparing data, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and managing queries to ensure the smoothest transfer of staff.Publicise and promote arrangements to attract, motivate and retain talent.Essential skills/experience:Experience of managing pay, reward and benefits in a large or complex organisation.Able to build and maintain strong and inclusive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and communicate, influence and negotiate to effect change, including in senior level meetings.Experience of working with the Trade Union(s) to deliver positive outcomes, preferably in a pay and reward context.Experience of developing written communications such as policies, presentations and briefings.Confident using data and insights from a variety of sources to help guide and direct decision making.Experience of managing and supporting multiple projects or initiatives concurrently, with an understanding of basic project management principles - with a well organised, proactive and enthusiastic approach.Be adaptable, flexible and able to work at pace - meeting regularly changing priorities and contributing to a wide variety of high-profile projects, briefings and commissions as required.Have good planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.Chartered/fully qualified (level 7) member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) or equivalent professional qualification or HR knowledge/experience.
