Go back University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust Band 6 Pulmonary Rehabilation and Respiratory Outpatient PhysioThe closing date is 18 August 2025An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Respiratory Outpatient Physiotherapy team within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be based across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals and involved in the running of Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes across our hospital and community venues including one to one assessments of patients with chronic respiratory diseases in a variety of settings, which will include consultant led clinics. In addition, the post holder will deliver specialist airway clearance and breathing pattern disorder clinics. The post is open to qualified Physiotherapists with the relevant skills to join our Multi-disciplinary team of Physiotherapists, support workers and admin staff. The team fosters a strong emphasis on collaborative working with the aim of streamlining patient pathways between the acute and community setting. Candidates need to be registered with the HCPC and have respiratory experience. The post holders will have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team across multiple agencies. Excellent organisational and time management skills are also essential. The role includes participation in the on-call rota and requires the post holder to be a car driver with use of a vehicle for business purposes. Main duties of the job*To lead on the running of Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes at GHH, Solihull Hopsital, BHH and community venues. * To perform specialist assessment of respiratory patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme based on this. *To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records. *To participate in the site on call physiotherapy service once training has been provided and deemed competent *To assist with supervision, education and co-ordination of therapy support workers and junior members of staff. *You will also be required to undertake evidence-based audit, research projects and participation in the NRAP Pulmonary Rehabilitation national audit to further your own and teams clinical practice. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols assisting in the achievement of national accreditation of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service.
