Sherwood House Medical Practice is seeking a newly qualified GP to join our team, working 6 sessions a week. The candidate must have qualified within the last two years and not have held a salaried position previously. Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a conscientious, open, and approachable GP to work 6 sessions per week. The role includes a variety of duties such as surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, signing prescriptions, and managing queries, paperwork, and correspondence efficiently. The successful applicant will provide high-quality patient care, communicate effectively with patients and carers, and manage their workload and resources effectively. About usOur team comprises four Practice Partners, four salaried GPs, junior doctors in rotation, a Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate, two Phlebotomists, and a friendly Admin Team. Job responsibilitiesJob Title:Salaried GP (NQGP) Reports to:The Partners (Clinically) Hours:6 sessions per week, including one on-call day from 8 am to 6:30 pm Job summary: The role involves providing a range of clinical services, supporting same-day and planned appointments, assessing and diagnosing patients, providing education, supporting colleagues, ensuring compliance with protocols, and participating in clinical governance and training activities. Duties include: Providing medical services to practice patients and temporary residents Collaborating with the clinical team for safe and effective care Supporting appointment systems and patient education Ensuring compliance with practice protocols and policies Preparing medical reports for insurance purposes Participating in clinical governance activities and audits Training and supervising nurses, medical students, and GP Registrars Maintaining high clinical standards and managing daily tasks Prescribing medicines following NICE guidelines and BNF standards Confidentiality, health & safety, and equality:The post requires strict adherence to confidentiality policies, health and safety procedures, and promoting equality and diversity within the practice. Communication:Effective communication within the team and with patients and carers is essential, including recognizing needs for alternative communication methods.
