We provide after-school care and holiday playschemes, ensuring that children have a safe and supportive environment. Summary We are seeking a Shift Leader to join our team at Gingerbread Edinburgh and Lothian Project Limited. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring that our childcare services run smoothly and effectively. Your leadership will be vital in creating a nurturing environment for children whilst supporting families. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations during your shift to ensure high-quality childcare services. Lead and manage a small team of staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Plan and coordinate activities for children during after-school care and holiday playschemes. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children''s needs and progress. Liaising with schools and other professionals. Recording information and completing relevant paperwork. Flexibility to work at any one of our four settings in term time. hours for holiday club and in-service day may differ from the term time hours. Requirements Proven experience in team management or leadership roles, preferably in childcare. Strong understanding of food safety , allergies, and regulations. Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, staff and other professionals effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when necessary. Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification. Attend team meetings and training.You will be responsible for registering with the SSSC.
