We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and forward-thinking Speech & Language Therapist to join our Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team as a Clinical Lead.In this senior role, you will provide specialist assessment and evidence-based intervention for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders resulting from long-term neurological conditions, delivering care in both outpatient and domiciliary settings.You will manage a complex caseload independently, taking responsibility for the full care pathway from assessment to outcome evaluation. As a clinical leader, you will support and supervise junior staff, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and provide expert training and guidance to colleagues, patients, and carers. Lead on patient-centred goal setting, monitor progress using outcome measures, and adapt interventions accordingly. Provide advanced input into MDT decision-making and care planning. Support use of AAC systems and liaise with regional services where appropriate. Maintain professional standards and legal accountability within HCPC and RCSLT frameworks. Supervise SLT students and educate the wider MDT, including in complex cases such as end-of-life care.Management ResponsibilitiesLine manage designated staff, overseeing performance, sickness, leave, and development. Monitor and manage waiting lists, workforce capacity, and service pressures. Lead incident investigations and support effective risk and governance management.CommunicationMaintain accurate, high-quality clinical records and patient reports. Communicate complex, sensitive information clearly to patients, families, and the MDT.Research And Service DevelopmentLead and contribute to audits, service evaluations, and evidence-based practice development. Drive continuous improvement through service development initiatives and participation in governance processes.Education And TrainingProvide expert clinical supervision and training to therapy staff and junior SLTs.
