Job Description

The service is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in forensic psychiatry to work within the low secure male mental illness inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient community service in York. The service is open to part-time and flexible working. The final program of activities will be worked out with the post holder on a ratio of 7.5 direct clinical care to 2.5 supporting professional activities. Job description Job responsibilities Have RC responsibilities for up to 10 male inpatients detained on restricted and unrestricted sections of the MHA. Act as consultant psychiatrist for about 20 outpatients. Provide access assessments on behalf of the Humber Coast and Vale secure provider collaborative. Provide risk assessment and management advice for colleagues in acute services. Assess approximately 2 patients per month. Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, supporting service users to achieve optimal mental wellbeing, reduce risk of offending, and facilitate social inclusion and community transition. Deliver high quality, efficient, and effective care collaboratively in a trauma-informed manner. Teach, train, and supervise junior medical staff and other professionals. Comply with GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists requirements. Join the Tees Esk and Wear Valley general adult on-call rota. Person Specification Qualifications MBBS Full GMC registration with a license to practice CCT or CESR in Forensic or WAA psychiatry (with appropriate experience) or inclusion on the GMC specialist register within 6 months Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent Approved under Section 12 (2) Approved Clinician status (anticipated within 6 months) Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team player Active engagement in audit and quality improvement #J-18808-Ljbffr
