The purpose of the role is to act as the Group’s designated Data Protection Officer, providing advice and guidance around data protection and information governance, ensuring there are robust controls around the Group’s collection, management and processing of data, particularly personal data.What You’ll Be DoingTo be responsible the overall management and coordination of Information Governance (IG) across the GroupDeveloping, promoting and monitoring IG policy and procedure in the GroupMonitor IG training and knowledge amongst colleagues, developing engaging learning programmes and materials in conjunction with the People and Culture team.In conjunction with the Technology team ensure that systems and processes adhere to IG best practiceMaintain an appropriate level of awareness of proposed changes to legislation best practice and regulatory requirements around IG, particularly in the Housing and Care sectorsLiaising with the Information Commissioners Office on matters of Data Protection on behalf of the GroupReceiving and provide overall management of requests for data under the appropriate legislation, monitoring the Group’s compliance with the relevant rulesDeveloping, maintaining, reviewing and monitoring suitable policy and procedures around Data ProtectionDevelop and deliver an annual Data Protection awareness campaignEnsuring that you maintain an appropriate level of knowledge around current Data Protection legislation and proposed developmentsActing as an ambassador for Business Improvement and change across the Group, promoting the benefits of both planned and underway changeWork with the Insight and Innovation team to Design, implement and monitor suitable Key Performance Indicators to monitor Group performance against the requirements of relevant Data Protection legislationProvide managers and leaders with the support, knowledge and tools to effectively identify and resolve performance issues around IG & Data Protection within their areasWorking within the Insight and Innovation team, participate actively in the development and implementation of projects or programmes where required.Maintain a good understanding of services across the Group and ensure that solutions in design are aligned with appropriate strategiesWho we’re looking for?A relevant degree or a professional qualification in Data Protection Management or Information Governance (IAPP CIPM, CIPT etc) or suitable experiencePrevious experience as a Data Protection practitioner, able to demonstrate your growth in challenging rolesExcellent knowledge of Data Protection law and a deep understanding of an organisation’s obligations with regards personal data and a subject’s right to accessExperience in providing practical advice to a wide range of end users on their data protection responsibilitiesAwareness of developments within Data Protection, IG and the wider social housing and care sectorsPractical experience of designing and delivering engaging and high-quality training and creative awareness campaignsExperienced in working in a team and independently to develop policies and procedures that provide assurance around good data governanceWhy join us?This is not just a ‘job’ this is the feeling of knowing that you are part of something bigger and being able to go home each day with job satisfaction and pride in what is achieved by Trident Group every day.Our purpose is putting people and communities at the heart of our services and the safe homes we provide.
