Investment Risk Director – Scotland (Hybrid) Confidential | Financial Institution | Permanent | £100,000 – £125,000 + comprehensive benefitsWe are working with a well-capitalised and purpose-driven financial institution to appoint an experienced Investment Risk Director. The role will take a leading position in overseeing investment risk across a diverse and complex portfolio, spanning multiple asset classes and geographies.This is a senior, highly visible position within the organisation’s second line of defence—delivering independent, objective risk assessments of both new transactions and existing holdings. You’ll work in close partnership with investment, portfolio management, and other functional teams to ensure informed, well-governed decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesLead independent risk reviews on prospective and current investments, providing recommendations to senior governance forums.Oversee the development and application of credit and equity risk models, stress testing, and performance monitoring.Refine and enhance risk frameworks, policies, and oversight processes.Produce impactful risk analysis and data-driven insights for decision-makers.Support the development of colleagues and deputise for senior leadership when required.Candidate ProfileSignificant experience in investment or credit risk within a regulated financial services environment.Proven track record across one or more of: private equity, private debt, venture capital, project finance, or commercial lending.Expertise in assessing risk for complex equity, debt, and fund structures.Skilled in corporate credit analysis, structuring, and recovery of distressed positions.Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to communicate complex issues with clarity.Professional qualifications such as FRM or CFA advantageous.Why This Role?Influence high-value investment decisions at senior level.Join an organisation with a strong purpose and a long-term vision.Competitive salary and benefits package.Hybrid working and genuine flexibility.
