Casual Car Documentation-The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasionalbasis, butare not essential to the role. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.Qualification -An engineering degree (CEng/IEng ) or an HNC/D or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and gained 5 - years post qualification experience.Wewish torecruitan experiencedmechanicalengineer, with proven constructionexperience,to join a dynamic service that delivers a complexprogrammeof construction projects on behalf of Manchester City Council.ThisSeniorMechanical Engineer appointment will contribute to the ongoing growth,delivery,and strategic development of thecity.The CapitalProgrammeDivisionispart ofthe Directorateof Growth & Developmentandis responsible fordelivering approximately £200mpa of Major and Minor CapitalProgrammesacross thecityand strives tocontinuouslyimprovethe effectiveness of its design, projectmanagement,andprogrammedelivery procedures. Thismechanicalengineeringappointment isthereforeintegral tothedeliveryofan excellentprofessionalmechanical engineering serviceforthe Division and its clients.About the Candidate Asa suitablyqualified SeniorMechanical Engineer, youwill work acrossa diverse portfolio ofworks takingresponsibility for mechanical design, planning,managementand delivery of projects andprogrammes.Inpreviousroles, youwill alsohave workedon a range of projectsdemonstratingyour mechanical designexpertiseand construction knowledge. Furthermore, you will have a successfultrack recordin delivery within major refurbishment and new build schemesandwill becompetent in engineering design and project management within construction projects and have knowledge of inspecting andreporting ondefects.You will also have knowledge of new installations, NBS specification software or other similar packages,calculations,and feasibility studies on all types of buildings. Additionally, you will alsopossessa good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, CAD software systems and relevant commercial and contractual experience.
