Vacancy: Cook/Canteen Assistant We have a vacancy for a Cook/Canteen Assistant within our colleague canteen. Your duties will include preparation, cooking, and serving meals to colleagues.You will report directly to the Senior Canteen Assistant. Additional responsibilities include handling money, cleaning, stock rotation, vending machine fulfillment, and other reasonable tasks related to canteen operations.Hours of work:25 hours, PM shift 16:00 – 21:00, any 5 days out of 7, including weekends. Flexibility to work additional hours during holiday and absence cover is essential.Ordering stock for food preparation and vending machinesSupporting stock management and controlChecking stock quality and codesPreparing food according to hygiene regulationsReplenishing and managing vending machines (price changes, cleaning, cash collection)Providing hospitality supportMaintaining cleanliness in the canteen, kitchen, dining area, and countersAdhering to food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, and COSHH guidelinesMonitoring temperature controls and expiry datesThe ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and experience working in a team environment.Cooking experience is essential, along with a positive attitude and willingness to assist across all kitchen and food service areas.The candidate must comply with all health and safety regulations and hold a Food Safety Certificate Level 2.Booker is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler, serving independent retailers, caterers, and small businesses across the country.
