OPPORTUNITYOur work begins at the very start of the project lifecycle, applying deep technical (system) safety expertise to ensure energy transition projects are conceived and developed with risks to people, the environment, business, and reputation reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).However, designing an asset to be ALARP is only the first step. System safety and occupational safety are inextricably linked. Without robust Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management systems, the risk reduction measures identified at the design stage will not be fully effective in day-to-day operations. Organisations also have a clear responsibility to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone impacted by their work, requiring strong occupational safety management throughout the asset’s lifecycle.By combining our established system safety expertise with our expanding occupational health and safety capability, we are delivering a fully integrated risk and safety management service to our clients.This approach has been warmly welcomed, leading to steady growth in demand. To meet this, we are seeking driven and passionate health and safety professionals to deliver the occupational safety services that work seamlessly with our system safety expertise to provide a truly end-to-end approach to protecting people, safeguarding assets, and enhancing performance across the entire lifecycle.QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTESWhilst we recognise every candidate has their own unique set of attributes, we are looking for an individual with a blend of the following qualifications, skills and experience:Recognised qualification in HSE management, e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate.Good knowledge of ISO 45001 and how it relates to organisations supporting the energy transition.Good understanding of UK Health & Safety (legislative) requirements and landscape.Experience in the development and implementation of proportionate and pragmatic HSE management systems and safety improvement initiatives.Experience in reviewing and auditing HSE management systems.Experience working in the field undertaking health and safety audits (i.e. UK legal compliance, ISO 45001 audits) and be comfortable working directly with clients on site.Understanding of fundamental influences that effect organisational culture.Experience in conducting incident investigations.Experience in interpreting industry data to make practical and pragmatic recommendations for improvements in HSE performance.Experience in the integration of system and personal safety in the context of more mature risk management environments working within specific regulations such as The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations and/or The Offshore Installations (Offshore Safety Directive) (Safety Case etc.) Regulations 2015.Experience in the integration of system and personal safety in the context of less mature risk management environments working within The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.Aptitude and personality to contribute to and lead multi-disciplinary teams and wider project stakeholders (designers, developers, investors and regulators) through difficult risk management decisions on complex engineering projects.Ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities whilst developing strong, lasting, relationships with clients of different sizes and maturities.Understanding of, and passion for, the science and engineering that will enable the world’s transition to net zero focused on the reduction and removal of harmful greenhouse gas emissions and the repair of damage already done.Experience in delivery of training, workshops, coaching and mentoring.Experience in sharing knowledge and experience across projects for the greater good.
