Reporting to the Data Analytics Lead, you’ll work with talented analysts and a data engineer to keep our databases running smoothly, develop and improve QlikView dashboards, and create innovative solutions that meet evolving business needs. From answering high profile information requests to collaborating with colleagues across the NIHR and the Department of Health and Social Care, every day will bring variety and purpose. If you’re skilled in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and dashboarding tools like Qlik and you thrive on problem-solving and process improvement, we’d love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Responding to information requests under tight KPIs, ensuring results match criteriaCoding NIHR research to HRCS Health Categories and Research Activity CodesProducing analytical support for quarterly and annual reportsCreating clear, engaging visualisations for stakeholder reportsDesigning dashboards in Qlik and developing Alteryx workflows to improve processesManaging and optimising large datasets in SQL Server Management StudioEnhancing SQL jobs, stored procedures, and troubleshooting performance issuesMaintaining quality assurance standards and documentationBuilding strong working relationships and driving continuous improvement in data products and servicesAbout YouEssential Criteria Degree in biomedical sciences, life sciences, or a related scientific disciplineMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a data analyst or similar analytical rolePrevious experience or a strong interest in clinical researchAdvanced working knowledge of Alteryx, including development of complex workflows, use of macros, and integration with APIsProficiency in Business Intelligence/Data Visualisation tools, preferably QlikExpert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, with strong proficiency across Microsoft Office applicationsDesired Criteria Understanding of the UKCRC Health Research Classification System (HRCS).An understanding of the research NIHR funds and supports.Familiar with various file-managements systems such as MS Sharepoint and Google Drive.Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Knowledge of cloud hosted database environments such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud PlatformPosition Details:Salary: £40,300 per yearLocation: Twickenham / Hybrid working modelContract Type: Full Time, 12 month FTC - SecondmentWorking Hours: 7.5 hours per dayAnnual Leave: 25 days, plus UK public holidaysEmployee Benefits Include:Annual Bonus, subject to company performanceEnhanced Contributory Pension SchemeLife Insurance CoverBenenden Healthcare MembershipTraining & Development OpportunitiesSeason Ticket LoanPlease note: This is an office based hybrid position, with a mandatory requirement to attend our office in Twickenham, London, one day each week.NB: Interviews to commence from the 1st September.
