As such, our ‘Blue-Chip’ leadership team are looking for people who want to grow and develop with the company. About the role The role will be part of a team to maintain and develop NLP components in our Backend ETL pipeline, enabling our APIs and our native SaaS platform to have real time intelligence into a company's service and product offerings, and how it compares to its competitors within the trends of its market. Distinct from our competitors, our services do not operate within a static data lake - instead, all of our analysis is performed on the fly, using a free text input provided by the user. You will not be transforming the same batch of data over and over again - you will be working with a dynamic stream of data, and no two days will be the same. Join the engineering team at a small tech start-up, delivering market-leading supplier discovery intelligence with AI methods; Working with our Junior Data Scientist to train and deploy in-house NLP models, including but not limited to BERT based text classification, key phrase extraction, and sentiment analysis; Collaborate with the backend team to deploy and maintain new agentic deep-research and RAG applications for market and company analysis; Design, build, test, ship, and monitor NLP analysis pipelines; Create containerised workflows using pre-trained NLP/other ML models; API requests; and mathematical 'statistical methods, with particular focus on text embeddings; Work closely with backend team to architect and manage vector/graph/other databases; Provide solutions in iterative steps, instead of waiting for a perfect solution; Take ownership of a knowledge modelling project for information extraction by LLM. About you You are a passionate and experienced NLP Data Scientist with a strong background in machine learning and natural language processing. You have a proven track record of developing and deploying NLP models in production environments, and you are excited about the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with NLP libraries such as Huggingface Transformers, SpaCy, Scikit-learn or NLTK; Experienced with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch; Experienced in the iterative cycle of data preparation, training and evaluating NLP models; Sees it as a challenge to work within resource constraints in order to maintain financial viability of the company; Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; A continued interest in the latest developments in NLP and machine learning, with a self-drive to experiment with new techniques and approaches.
