Overview:As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building a leading and innovative platform that underpins the investment teams. Acting as a coach, you will contribute directly while also developing junior members. You will work on cutting-edge platforms, automation tools, and several interesting projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in databases such as SQL Server, Snowflake, and Redshift. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will liaise between technical teams and business users. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage database solutions across platforms including SQL Server, Snowflake, MongoDB, and Redshift Develop the consolidated core build-out for all database installations Lead projects to identify and eliminate duplication across data stores Contribute to the development and enforcement of best practices in database management Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operations Use open-source tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to monitor and optimize database performance Implement database security measures, including access controls and encryption Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and performance tuning Monitor systems proactively to identify and resolve issues Essential Skills: At least 5+ years of experience managing enterprise database platforms Knowledge of SQL Server, Snowflake, and Redshift Proficiency in Transact-SQL for scripting, debugging, and maintenance Proficiency in Python and Unix shell scripting (preferred) Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) Excellent communication skills to collaborate with investment professionals Fluency in English Desirable Skills: Experience with MongoDB or other timeseries databases Experience in database optimization and cost reduction Experience working with trading, data, and infrastructure teams Due to high application volume, only successful candidates will be contacted.
