The Role:The Head of Devices is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the organisation’s device strategy, ensuring delivery of high-quality, innovative, and scalable hardware and software solutions. This role combines strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder engagement to lead cross-functional teams and manage the full lifecycle of devices – from concept and design through to delivery, maintenance, and decommissioning.Responsibilities: Strategy & Leadership:Define and deliver the organisation’s device strategy, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.Lead the Devices team, including engineering, operations, and product specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.Act as a thought leader on emerging device technologies, ensuring the organisation remains competitive and future-ready.Delivery & Operations:Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of devices (procurement, testing, deployment, support, and retirement).Ensure devices meet regulatory, security, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR, CE/FCC, NHS/GDS standards if public sector).Drive operational excellence by monitoring KPIs such as performance, uptime, cost efficiency, and user satisfaction.Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including C-suite, to align device strategy with organisational priorities.Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, SLAs, and performance reviews.Partner with external organisations to explore opportunities for innovation and co-development.Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Lead pilots and proof-of-concepts for new devices and platforms.Implement scalable solutions that reduce cost, improve user experience, and enhance service delivery.Champion accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability in all device-related initiatives.Skills & Experience: Proven track record in leading device or endpoint strategies at scale, ideally in [sector: e.g., telecoms, healthcare, government, financial services].Strong understanding of device ecosystems, including hardware, software integration, security, and cloud-based management.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage large budgets, and deliver complex programmes within scope, time, and cost.Skilled in stakeholder engagement, influencing at executive and board level.Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.Knowledge of Agile/Lean methodologies and modern delivery practices.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, risk, and innovation.About us: At Peregrine, we see beyond the immediate and look to the horizon.
