We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to Residents in our Residential home. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our Residents by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others. Responsibilities include:Supporting and assisting People in our Care with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all aspects of daily living to ensure high-quality care. Assisting People with their physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs, maintaining their comfort and dignity. Supporting People with limited mobility or learning difficulties, using aids effectively. Monitoring and assisting People who may be confused or have behavioral issues. Promoting continence and assisting in the care of People who are dying or have a progressive illness, including last offices. Completing written records and observing care planning needs. Engaging in social activities and supporting hobbies and interests. Responding to calls from the Nursecall system, answering the door and telephone, and passing on messages. Reporting on the well-being of People under supervision. Making and changing beds, ensuring rooms are clean, and resources are used appropriately. Cleaning and maintaining equipment used by People and their relatives. Providing personal care and assistance during meal times, considering dietary requirements and swallowing difficulties. Escorting People to and from the Care Home for outings or hospital visits. Practicing maximum integrity in handling personal and financial affairs of Residents. Assisting with rearrangement of people's bedrooms, ensuring safe handling techniques. Communication and Development:Participating in staff and client meetings. Maintaining professional knowledge through training and development. Health and Safety:Reporting illnesses or accidents immediately. Implementing health and safety policies and procedures. Reporting hazards and promoting safe working practices. General:Promoting the reputation of the Care Home. Maintaining confidentiality. Notifying absences and ensuring security. Adhering to policies, maintaining equipment, and performing other tasks as assigned. Person Specification:Genuine interest in caring. Effective communication skills. Team player attitude. Willingness to participate in training. Satisfactory police check and POVA list check. Desired qualifications include a relevant vocational qualification, experience working with the relevant client group, GCSEs in Maths and English, NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, and experience in a care home or healthcare setting.
