Base pay rangeSenior Security Architect – Critical National Infrastructure (CNI / Aviation Sector) Location:Must be UK-based (Hybrid with travel to client site) Salary -£90,000 base - £120,000 base - depending on experience and expertise. We are looking for an experienced Senior Security Architect to join our client’s security architecture team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and overseeing security solutions for Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments, particularly within the aviation sector. You should have experience advising on secure system design, preferably in a senior technical security leadership position. This is a strategic role that involves working with complex systems to ensure security integration throughout all phases of architecture and delivery. Key Responsibilities of Senior Security Architect: Lead the design and development of secure architectures for CNI projects. Apply NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and other leading standards to build resilient security controls. Lead the development, implementation, and assurance of cybersecurity controls in line with theNCSC CAF principles . Conduct assessments against CAF objectives, producing risk-based recommendations and improvement roadmaps. Conduct risk assessments and threat modelling to identify vulnerabilities across systems and networks. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to ensure security requirements are integrated. Provide expert guidance on cloud, OT, and IT convergence security challenges. Produce technical documentation and architecture artefacts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for security-related matters, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security architecture, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are easily accessible and understood by relevant parties. Skills & Experience of Senior Security Architect Proven experience as aSenior Security Architect inhighly regulated or CNI environments. Essential: NIST, NCSC CAF (CNI), ISO 27001, TOGAF, SABSA or equivalent frameworks. Expertise in network, application, and cloud security (Azure / AWS). Background in risk management, incident response, and security governance.
