Job Title

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for interpreting relevant legislation and guidance to develop and implement trust-wide policies and procedures on behalf of the Trust Board and Executive Directors. They will ensure compliance with health and safety legislation through risk assessments and audits, providing professional advice at strategic and operational levels.Key Responsibilities:Fulfilling the role of the competent person for health and safety advice under regulation 7 of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.Providing corporate advice on statutory and legal health and safety requirements.Offering expert guidance and support to staff at all levels on health and safety matters.Leading the development and review of health and safety policies, including the Trust's Health and Safety Policy.Supporting the integration of health and safety arrangements within other Trust policies to ensure legislative compliance and safe practice.Staying updated on legislative changes and communicating these to relevant committees and policy owners.Conducting annual health and safety audits to monitor compliance.Promoting a culture of openness where staff can report incidents and near misses.Overseeing non-clinical incidents, providing guidance for investigations, and ensuring appropriate mitigations.Deciding on reportability of incidents under RIDDOR and managing incident closures.Qualifications and Experience: The candidate must hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, with experience as a safety professional within a healthcare environment and experience working within an organization of comparable size and complexity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
