The post is for a fully trained paediatric anaesthetist, providing specialist paediatric anaesthesia to support all activity excluding cardiac anaesthesia. The post is for 10 PAs and has 1 in 16 on-call commitment. The specialty is currently led by Dr Marina George. The department consists of 54 substantive consultants 3 joint posts with PICU CICU and CATS and 30 post-fellowship registrars and fellows. You will be on the General Medical Council's specialist register for Anaesthetics (CCT or equivalent), or within 6 months of award of CCT by date of interview. You will have completed (or be within 6 months of completion of) a recognised training programme in paediatric anaesthesia and have extensive experience. The Trust has over 300 beds and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care. The patient population consists of well over 192,828 admissions or outpatient appointments per year. Main duties of the jobAs a member of the anaesthetic department you will be expected to deliver specialist paediatric care throughout the perioperative period. This will include the preoperative preparation of patients, their intraoperative care and to ensure a safe postoperative environment.
