The Global Relay HR team provides top-notch services and support in enabling the execution of Global Relay’s business strategies while balancing employees’ individual goals and professional objectives. About the role: The HR Lead will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the UK and EMEA region while maintaining hands-on responsibility for their own portfolio of HR initiatives. This role will oversee a small HR team of approximately five professionals, ensuring that HR programs and policies are implemented effectively and consistently. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to business leaders, supporting a defined business unit while also driving broader regional HR strategies. The role will report directly to the HR Director – UK & EMEA. They work intimately with the Global Relay Leadership team on initiatives such as performance management, career development, compensation & benefits, and recruitment. Duties and responsibilities: Lead and develop a high-performing HR team, providing guidance, coaching and support to ensure operational excellence. Conduct weekly 1:1 with team members and annual performance reviews. Serve as the primary HR business partner for a defined business unit within EMEA, taking ownership of all HR matters for that unit. Drive end-to-end HR processes including talent management, performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement. Provide hands-on support in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR policy implementation. Partner with regional and global HR colleagues to ensure data accuracy and integrity, as well as consistency in HR programs and compliance with local employment laws. Assist in HR compliance audits and prepare evidence. Identify and implement initiatives that enhance employee experience and strengthen organizational culture across the region. Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership. Support organizational change initiatives, including recruitment, promotions and succession planning. About you: 10 + years of proven experience as a Senior HR business partner or HR lead, ideally within a multi-country EMEA context. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a small team while maintaining hands-on operational involvement. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent detail orientation and tactfulness. Experience in a variety of HR programs, including performance management, and employee engagement programs. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of immigration law and related processes would be beneficial to support our international recruitment and mobility needs.
